A Little Ordinary Magic
Kanjani8; light Ryo/Maru with a side of Subaru/Yasu.

Credit: Thanks to [profile] yey_yey for the super-speedy beta! I was already late for the deadline and she totally managed to check everything within a day. Seriously, AMAZING. I totally messed up and all mistakes are the result of my horrible editing skillz.

Notes:

This stemmed from wanting to include the line 'can you turn off the lights' from Utaban, and it has absolutely nothing to do with that. I panicked when I received the assignment since it's so different from what I'm used to writing (which isn't much, but...), and I ended up experimenting a lot. Totally chickened out on the romance too because I just couldn't write this pair. :p I had a lot of fun with the AU setting though, turned out more cracky than my recipient probably would have liked. Eeeek.

Shibutani Subaru, Yasuda Shota

Notes:

This is written for Subaru's birthday, but since Yasu's one is totally focused on Subaru, it's the reverse this time. Inspired by their Life ~Me no Mae no Mukoe~ Music Station performances. It's sort of implied that they're in an established relationship, but it can be read as close friendship as well, which I actually prefer. Kind of a character study on Yasu, and by god is he hard to write. I don't think I quite succeeded. Had to write this in a rush too, so I really don't like this one much.

Anyway, regarding the title, minor has two meanings here. The first is the meaning insignificant. The other has to do with music, and minor tunes tend to have a heavier or gloomier sense to them. Note that I don't actually know anything about band music, so I apologize for any mistakes on the subject.

Games for Days
Shibutani Subaru/Yasuda Shota

Notes:

This is a Hunger Games AU. No spoilers for the books, except for the games settings in the first. Might be confusing for people who hasn't read any of the books, so here's a quick explanation.

In a nation with a city called Capitol in the center and several districts surrounding it, two young children (a boy and a girl) are chosen as 'tributes' each year. The Capitol forces the tributes into the annual Hunger Games, a fight to death on live TV. The winner, known as 'victors', are promised a lifetime supply food and money. Some districts take advance of this and this leads to the 'careers', children who grew up training for these games. During the games, the crowd watching the games can donate to show their support, known as 'sponsors', and it is essential that the tributes charm the audience to bring in sponsorships in the form of food, water, medicine or weapons. After winning, victors are invited back to the Capitol each year to serve as 'mentors' for the tributes from their own division, to help plan strategies for the games. Quarter Quells happen every twenty-five years, with special rules that makes the games things even more challenging.

Rather dark for something I wrote for Yasu's birthday. But...happy birthday? :3
