This was gorgeous - really dark and disturbing, but also lighthearted in some parts, and a matter of fact, because this is just how things are. I've never read the book before, but the premise sounds really interesting, and I love how you incorporated all of K8 in this world (the fact that most of them went through it made me wibble, especially Yoko's part, but reading about it also made me curious as to how they all survived). The ending broke my heart too, but in a good way? Thanks for writing this!
